Singapore, 13th January; ZALORA, Asia’s online fashion destination, is pleased to announce the winners of the inaugural 2015 ZALORA Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to one student from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. (See below for the full list of winners.)
Seven outstanding entries were selected from close to 200 applications submitted from tertiary institutions across the region. Currently in its first year, the ZALORA Scholarship, themed “The Science of Fashion,” is an initiative to attract and nurture passionate young individuals in the area where e-commerce meets fashion. Applicants are encouraged to think creatively and bring out the science behind fashion through compelling means. Winning entries were evaluated based on the insightful perspectives of the fashion industry, as well as the innovative incorporation of science into fashion.
The 2015 ZALORA Scholarship was met with strong enthusiasm and support from various tertiary institutions in the region, including University of Hong Kong, University Of Malaya and National University of Singapore. Recipients of the scholarship will be awarded S$3000 towards their tuition fees and a paid internship opportunity at ZALORA in May 2016.
This scholarship programme is a testament to ZALORA’s ongoing commitment to empower communities in which it operates through education and meritocracy.
